"It was not impossible to build Rapture at the bottom of the sea, it was impossible to build it anywhere else" - Andrew Ryan.
Andrew Ryan. A rebel, a visionary, an engineer, a man of many ideas but most importantly, the founder of Rapture, the underwater dystopian city for the best and the finest in society.
I would like to capture the grandeur of Mr. Ryan in my new piece with the concept of geometric gold/copper cast vector. I kept seeing these self portrait bronze sculpture of him in his office in the level where you confronted him and not to mention at the beginning of the game. So I got the idea to do a cast in vector form.
Here's to the best game ever, Bioshock.
Info :
Vectors of Mr. Ryan and mechanical background are done in Macromedia Freehand MX.
I have to say, Andrew Ryan is one of the most fascinating video game characters I have ever encountered. I especially love the audio logs that detail his back story, showing him starting out as a man with a vision, and then slowly descending into madness.
This is fantastic. It captures that steampunk essence of Bioshock. Quick Question though..what font did you use for the R? Is it a font in Photoshop CS5?
